The Weatherization Assistance Program
performs energy audits for eligible owners and renters, in order to find areas
that have the highest potential for heat loss. We develop a work scope and
apply materials that have the greatest potential to save on fuel and electric
costs and increase the comfort for residents.
The four main areas we address are:
-
INFILTRATION:
Where unwanted cold enters the home. Caulking, weather-stripping and
foam products are used.
-
CONDUCTIVE LOSS:
When heat produced inside is lost to the outside.
Insulation is installed in walls, basements and attics.
-
REPAIRS: Are only performed in
order to protect the energy saving materials we install.
-
HEALTH AND SAFETY:
Installing smoke
and CO detectors, insuring that all combustible appliances are vented and
operating safely.
Weatherization Plus:
Provides those
individuals that do not qualify for Weatherization the opportunity to have the
same type of services performed on their home for a fee.
